the principle

a fact is never a guess.

field-notebook.txt

most tools blur what they know with what they guess.

Quo Fuit draws a clean line: a documented fact is never presented as a guess — and a guess never as a fact.

every presence shown carries its level of evidence, and traces back to its source in one click. the absence of a source is not a hypothesis: it is an absence.

documented fact

a person, a place, a date — indexed by a verifiable source. certain · sourced

correlation

two presences that overlap. a clue — never proof of a meeting. flagged as such

hypothesis

a possible deduction, labeled with its confidence — never slipped in among the facts. uncertain · shown

where does the data come from?

offline wikipedia (44 gb), a gazetteer of 1.33 million places, and public-domain biographies. everything is on your machine — nothing leaves.

can an extracted fact be wrong?

yes — and that's why every fact passes through a cascade of deterministic rules then a local ai judge. whatever fails is hidden and marked « disputed », never presented as true.

is a co-presence a meeting?

no. two documented presences in the same place in the same period are a correlation. Quo Fuit will never say « they met » without a source.
