General Terms and Conditions of Sale and Use

Last updated: August 13, 2026

1 · Publisher

The Quo Fuit service (“the Service”) is published by [TO COMPLETE: name / company name], [legal status, SIRET/RCS], whose registered office is located at [address]. Contact: evanscheid42@gmail.com.

2 · Purpose of the Service

Quo Fuit is a historical spatio-temporal search engine: it lets you search for a person and see where and when they are documented, or search for a place and period to see who is attested there. The Service presents only documented facts linked to their sources; correlations and hypotheses are flagged as such and are never presented as established facts.

3 · Account and free access

Using the Service requires creating an account via Google sign-in. Upon registration, each account receives 3 free searches giving access to all features (search by date, “journey” timeline, cross-searches, export). Beyond that, access requires a subscription.

4 · Subscriptions and pricing

Three monthly subscriptions are offered, in euros, all taxes included:

Lite — €5.99/month: 25 searches per day, search by date, “journey” timeline, access to all sources.
Premium — €29.99/month: everything in Lite, plus 300 searches per day, the “cross-searches” tab and CSV/JSON export. 3-day free trial.
Pro — €54.99/month: everything in Premium, plus API/MCP access and extended usage (up to 10,000 searches per day, fair use). 3-day free trial.

Subscriptions have no minimum commitment period and renew automatically each month. The free trial, where applicable, requires registering a payment method; no amount is charged before the end of the trial period, and the subscription may be cancelled at any time before that date without being billed.

5 · Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe. Quo Fuit does not collect, store, or see any bank card data. The subscription is charged automatically on each due date until cancellation.

6 · Right of withdrawal and express waiver

The Service provides immediate access to digital content. In accordance with Article L221-28 (13°) of the French Consumer Code (Code de la consommation), by subscribing you expressly request the immediate performance of the Service and acknowledge that you waive your fourteen (14) day right of withdrawal as soon as payment is confirmed.

This waiver is collected via a dedicated and mandatory checkbox presented at the time of payment. If this box is not ticked, the payment cannot be finalized.

In the absence of expressly requested immediate access, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal would apply automatically as a matter of law.

7 · Cancellation and refund

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your customer area (Stripe portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period: you keep access until that date, with no further charge thereafter. No renewal occurs after cancellation.

Given the waiver of the right of withdrawal (Article 6), amounts already charged are not refundable as a matter of right. The publisher may nevertheless grant a full or partial refund, as a commercial gesture, upon request to evanscheid42@gmail.com.

8 · Personal data

Account data (email address, Google identifier, search history) is processed for the operation of the Service. You have a right of access, rectification, and deletion. [TO COMPLETE: link to the privacy policy]

9 · Sources and intellectual property

The facts presented come from open sources (Wikipedia under CC BY-SA, public domain works, datasets under open licenses) whose attribution is indicated for each item of information. Quo Fuit claims no rights over these sources and respects their respective licenses.

10 · Liability

Quo Fuit strives to present only facts linked to verifiable sources. The Service does not, however, guarantee the completeness or the freedom from error of third-party sources, and the absence of information does not constitute proof of a negative fact. Displayed correlations (for example, two presences at the same place) never constitute proof of a meeting.

This document is a template intended to be completed (mentions marked [TO COMPLETE]) and to be reviewed by a legal professional before opening paid subscriptions. It does not constitute legal advice.
